Filarmônica de Pasárgada is a Brazilian band founded in 2008 at
São Paulo University by the composer Marcelo Segreto.
The group combines experimental music and traditional Brazilian popular music and uses
orchestral instruments and electronic effects. The band has released four albums:
- O hábito da força (Coaxo do Sapo, 2012)
With special guest apperances by Ná Ozzetti and Luiz Tatit.
- Radio Lixão (Coaxo do Sapo, 2014)
With special guest by Tom Zé, Guilherme Arantes, Kassin and Tatá Aeroplano.
- Algorritmos (Coaxo do Sapo, 2016)
With special guest Guilherme Arantes, Tom Zé, Zé Miguel Wisnik,
Juçara Marçal, Ná Ozzetti, Luiz Tatit, Tim Bernardes (O Terno), Kassin e Barulho Max.
- pssp (YB Music 2022)
Inspired by the history of the city of São Paulo, the album features appearances by Tom Zé,
Barbatuques, Música de Montagem, Trupe Chá de Boldo and Escola Mutungo de Capoeira Angola.
The band participated in Tom Zé's releases Tribunal do Feicebuqui (2013) and in
Vira Lata na Via Láctea (2014) for which Marcelo Segreto made some compositions and
the arrangement for "Pequena suburbana" (Caetano Veloso / Tom Zé).
The group has won several prizes at Brazilian festivals: Programa Nascente USP (2009),
Festival da Canção da UNICAMP (2010), Festival Nacional da Canção-FENAC (2011), Grammy Awards (2012)
in the category "Best Demo Latin CD".
